Don't think that a well-polished image is only for the most famous brands. Even small restaurants should take care of theirs, because their first contact with their customers is long before they book a table...

Let's first agree on what branding is: everything that is visible! For example, the clothes your staff wear, the way they behave towards customers, the colour of your furniture or the design of your website, all refer to your brand image.

 

Use your brand image to stand out

Competition is tough in the restaurant industry. It is essential to stand out from the crowd in order to attract the attention of already over-solicited consumers. This over-solicitation goes hand in hand with an increase in their demands. The quality of your food is no longer enough. They are looking for a real experience: an exotic setting, the possibility of ordering online and having it delivered and why not goodies... Before reaching the stomachs, it is important to reach the hearts and minds!

The time of payment can also be an integral part of the experience you offer, either because it is done in a certain way or because you have special facilities.

 

Have a clear message

To communicate your ideas well, be as clear and precise as possible. This makes it easier for your customers to remember you and will increase their trust in you. Define a strategy and stick to it!

Work on your visual identity

If "a picture is worth a thousand words", then take the time to work on your logo, the font you use when you write your leaflets or your menus, the colours you choose for the furniture of your establishment, the material in which you design your menus, ... These different elements say something about you, what you are trying to achieve and the spirit of the place. When all these "details" match the values or desires of your customers, you can be sure to review them quickly!

 

Multiply your distribution channels

Today's society offers you many opportunities to get your message across. Don't miss out: use them all! Virtual word-of-mouth is perhaps just as important as physical word-of-mouth.

Use social media; if you can do it or someone can do it for you, posting regularly on social media can help you build your brand.

Another way to get discovered: appear on several delivery platforms. As we said in this article (link), no single delivery platform gathers 100% of the customers. So it is in your interest to be "everywhere" to reach a maximum of customers.
