How to launch yourself serenely on home delivery platforms?
Bars and restaurants are no longer hesitating to launch into home meal delivery. These additional sales allow them to maintain and/or develop the activity of their establishment. And this is even more true since the beginning of the pandemic.

To put your time and energy in the right place, keep an eye on the market shares managed by the different delivery platforms:
- JustEat leads the way, with 40% of deliveries made on its behalf;
- Deliveroo is in second place, with a 22% market share;
- UberEats is a good "loser", with 20% of deliveries to its credit;
- Fourth place goes to a group of fast-food chains that have succeeded in seducing consumers with home deliveries. These include McDonalds and Domino's Pizza.
That being said, the respective market shares of the platforms should not be your only selection criteria. Take an interest in the profiles of the restaurants each one works with. We know that Just Eat is "specialized" in fast food, Deliveroo has a preference for healthy food and offers dishes for different diets (vegetarian, vegan, ...)
Depending on the platform, you will see higher or lower activation, sales and management costs per order.
The activation fee allows you to create your account and register your establishment on the platform. On the Deliveroo app, there is a fee for activation, whereas it is free with Just Eat and Uber Eats.
Sales fees start at 30% at Uber Eats, rise to 34% for Just Eat and peak at 35% for Deliveroo.
The management cost per order is only charged at Just Eat.
Registration is relatively similar from one platform to another.
- Sign up for Uber Eats
To register, simply fill in the registration fields with your business information and upload your menu. You'll then be taken to your restaurant's dashboard. You can then take advantage of the reliability and ease of use of Uber Eats to increase your sales.
- Sign up with Deliveroo
The platform also allows you to leave a tip for your establishment and the delivery person if the customer wishes. The brand ensures a growth in sales volume of up to 30%.
- Register with Just Eat
The operation is more or less the same as for the two previous platforms. However, Just Eat differs by the personalized assistance it offers to restaurant owners, as well as by its welcome pack. The latter will be sent to you as soon as you have completed your registration.
Managing your presence on multiple delivery platforms can quickly become time-consuming, and with order management software, you can control everything from one screen.
